Scanners produce the best images to grade |
The image is flat, high resolution and has a single color background such as this 1977 Pete Rose card. |
Scanned cards produce the most accurate grades and measurements |
Cell phones usually produce images that are tilted away from the camera such as this Ken Griffey card. |
Tilted images are straightened and then measured and graded. |
This straightening, measuring and grading would be impossible for the human eye to do accurately. |
And backgrounds that have many colors (background noise) can also be graded. |
Such as with this wrestling card. |
